Clean Tech and Green Patents

Event Co-hosts: Cleantech Open, World Rescources SimCenter
Thursday April 10 | 2014 | 6:00p - 8:00p

Join us for networking and an engaging conversation at the World Resources SimCenter to learn about the role of patents in green tech innovation.

Eric Lane, the founder and principal of Green Patent Law, will provide historical background and perspective on the critical role of patents as both essential components, and revealing indicators, of green tech innovation.  He will share practical information on green patenting strategies and green patent policies and initiatives for green tech innovators, and also touch on trademark issues and provide strategies for protecting green brands.  Questions we will ask and answer are:  have branding terms such as “green” and “eco” become generic and unprotectable?  in branding clean tech, is blue the new green?

At this briefing, we’ll give you an overview of the Cleantech Open.  You will learn about our 2014  Business Accelerator and how to accelerate your cleantech startup with expert training, national visibility, and investor engagement and up to $200,000 in cash and services awarded. In addition to great networking, the event will include information about how you can get involved as a Cleantech Open volunteer, mentor, judge, investor and more.

A San Diego local alumni company Syncromatics will be on hand to talk about their experience participating in the Cleantech Open.
