Event Summary:

San Diego is a paradise for most of us - the year-round weather, beaches, golf, universities and diverse economy.  Yet San Diego also has the 3rd largest homeless population in the nation.  At last count almost 10,000 people are living in shelters, cars, canyons or on the street.  While most are individuals, one-third of our homeless are families.

Many are veterans and others have mental illness.  One-third are substance abusers, while and third have college experience.  Our Homeless Agencies provide compassionate year-round services and report that the homeless want the same things as the rest of us: to support themselves, have jobs, have comfortable and safe housing, to be healthy, and help their children do well in school.

Join us to hear the facts, learn what's being done, and help us explore what's missing to serve this community.
