Break Free from Fossil Fuels Los Angeles is one of several mass mobilizations around the globe that will call for an end to fossil fuel extraction, keeping coal, oil and gas in the ground,  an end to environmental racism, and transitioning to 100% renewable energy.

SanDiego350 is proud to support Break Free LA. People will be coming from all over California to participate in this event.

Program:

• We’ll gather at Los Angeles City Hall for a rally that begins 1 pm
• Speakers include 350.org’s Bill McKibben and Tom Steyer, as well as amazing activists doing great work around California and great local artists
• We’ll march from City Hall to Pershing Square (about 1 mile), ending by 4 pm

Register to ride our chartered buses to travel together to  Los Angeles:

• NOTE: our  reserved bus seats are currently full. Please join the wait list for a chartered bus seat. If we get enough interest we’ll charter another bus. If we don’t have enough folks for another bus we’ll ask participants to meet at the bus locations and have folks carpool from there. If you need a ride – we’ll find you a ride.
• We will leave the Qualcomm Stadium trolley station (9449 Friars Rd) in Mission Valley about 9:45 am
• We will leave La Costa Park & Ride (710 La Costa Ave, Encinitas) about 10:15 am
• You may leave your car parked at both of the above locations
• We will leave Los Angeles about 4:30 or 5 pm (the march will end between 4 and 4:30 pm)
• We’ll get back to San Diego between 6:30 and 8 pm (and drop folks at the stops above).
• We’ll provide snacks and drinks, but suggest folks bring a lunch for themselves

If you’re going on your own please meet up with us – we’ll have signs for you and want to have a strong San Diego showing:

• When and where to meet us: Our buses should arrive around 12:30 pm. Please meet us on the eastern corner of N Main St and 1st St. near City Hall (see map, right). 
• We’ll be sending you some contact #s in case you have difficulties connecting

Help us raise $2,000

• Enable folks for whom the $30 bus ticket is a hardship to participate in the event
• Help us purchase materials for the signs, banners, puppets and other creative visuals we’re making for Break Free
• If you can’t be there please help someone else get a seat on the bus
