After years of effort by a broad coalition of environmental, health, labor, and other organizations as well as business, San Diego is poised to be a national leader on climate action when the legally binding climate action plan (CAP) passes at the City Council this Tuesday. Please join us for the Council meeting and a rally ahead as we celebrate this huge milestone for our region. The plan aims to achieve 100% clean energy by 2035 and implements transit, waste reduction and other measures to achieve a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas pollution.

Although the plan is pretty guaranteed to pass it’s crucial for us to be there as we’ll need to work going forward to make sure the plans various measures are implemented as quickly and effectively as possible. So we want the council to know how much we support this effort, and that we will continue to pay attention and work for climate action!

Rally: 12:15 pm in Civic Center outside City Hall

Meeting (come to speak, or at least to hold a sign!): City Hall, 12th floor
