On September 22 the press event to kickoff the campaign to defeat Measure A will be held. We need a crowd to show support and hold the signs we made.

Measure A is one of the ballot measures that we will be voting on in November. It is sponsored by SANDAG, the San Diego Association of Governments. If it passes, it will increase our sales tax by half a cent for 40 years to pay for a grab bag of different projects that won’t address climate change and won’t move us to a 21st century transportation system that prioritizes transit. The measure is opposed by both the Democratic and Republican parties, all the climate groups in San Diego, as well as unions, health advocates, etc.

SD350 is part of the Quality of Life Coalition that is opposed to the ballot measure and is working to defeat it. We hope that you will join us in voting against it and help us get the word out to others.

We’ll be at Kimball Elementary School in National City to highlight the connections between highways and air pollution, and the need for affordable, convenient transit options that enable all residents to access jobs and services.
