Bill Fulton

William Fulton (or Bill Fulton) is an American author, urban planner, and politician. He served as Mayor of the City of Ventura, California from 2009 to 2011 and currently serves as Planning Director for the City of San Diego. He is considered a leading advocate of the "Smart Growth" movement in urban planning. In 2009, he was named to Planetizen's list of "Top 100 Urban Thinkers" Mr. Fulton is also Editor & Publisher of California Planning & Development Report that was founded in 1986. Teddy Cruz

Teddy Cruz was born in Guatemala City. He obtained a Master in Design Studies at Harvard University in 1997. He has been recognized internationally for his urban research of the Tijuana-San Diego border, advancing border immigrant neighborhoods as sites of cultural production, from which to rethink urban policy, affordable housing and civic infrastructure. In 1991 he received the prestigious Rome Prize in Architecture and in 2005 he was the first recipient of the James Stirling Memorial Lecture On The City Prize, by the Canadian Center of Architecture and the London School of Economics.

Reno Harnish

Reno works for a better environment. In 2009 he founded and is currently the Director of the Center for Environment and National Security at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He has organized and led two symposia mixing scientists with Washington policy makers and does grant work for the EPA, USAID and World Bank. He served in the Department of State in Washington as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Oceans, Environment, Science and Health.
Susan Riggs Tinsky

Susan Riggs Tinsky is the Executive Director of the San Diego Housing Federation. In this capacity, her primary goal is been to promote the creation of safe, stable, and healthy housing that is affordable to lower income families and people in need. Prior to joining the Federation, she worked as an attorney with law firm Best, Best & Krieger, LLP, where her specialization was affordable housing and redevelopment law. Additionally, she worked for the San Diego Housing Commission from 2001-2004.
Cary Lowe

Lowe co-chaired the Water Policy Implementation Task Force and is a California land use lawyer with 35 years of experience representing property owners, land developers, builders, public agencies, Indian tribes, citizen groups and non-profit organizations, in connection with a broad range of land use and environmental issues. In addition to being an attorney, Mr. Lowe holds a Ph.D. in urban planning and has been admitted to the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Charles Stoll

Charles Stoll, more commonly known as "Muggs", is the Director of Land Use and Transportation Planning for the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) in San Diego, California. He directs a team of over 30 professionals in developing critical land use and transportation planning initiatives for the San Diego region, such as the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan and the first Sustainable Communities Strategy pursuant to Senate Bill 375 in the State of California. Previously, Stoll was the TransNet Program Manager and interim Communications Director for SANDAG.
Elyse Lowe

A native San Diegan, Elyse Lowe studied environmental studies and earth science, with an emphasis on policy and planning, at UC Santa Cruz. Elyse started her career with the City of San Diego’s Environmental Services Department managing citywide recycling programs. She then worked in the City’s Financial Management Department as a Budget Analyst.

In his work career Craig has been a city planner for several California cities, and has also worked at United Way of San Diego. Craig continues to volunteer his private time for community needs including transportation system improvement, quality of life in his own neighborhood, and peace/social justice initiatives.
