After years of effort by a broad coalition of environmental, health, labor, and other organizations as well as business, San Diego is poised to be a national leader on climate action when the legally binding climate action plan (CAP) passes at the City Council this Tuesday. Please join us for the Council meeting and a rally ahead as we celebrate this huge milestone for our region. The plan aims to achieve 100% clean energy by 2035 and implements transit, waste reduction and other measures to achieve a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas pollution.

Our first Global Gratitude Food Festival will celebrate the end of the Paris COP21 Climate Conference with local San Diego organizations that advocate a planet/plant based diet and their friends. We will celebrate by showcasing planet/plant-based food, drink, music, and merriment along with information on furthering the planet-based eating movement in light of the COP21 conference. We look forward to seeing you there.

From November 29 to December 12, world leaders will meet in Paris to negotiate a new global climate treaty. While progress is expected, we already know that any agreement reached will not be nearly as strong as we need it to be. 2015 is on track to be the hottest year on record, and unprecedented storms, floods and droughts are happening around the world. The tragedy in Paris has only strengthened our resolve to stand together for a peaceful and livable planet.

Join us in Balboa Park as we:

• Outreach to people in the park about the Paris talks, our upcoming December 12 action, and about fracking.
• Make huge and compelling art works for use at our upcoming December 12 action (no artistic talent or materials required – just a desire to have fun and meet great people)
